Join the LRA

We encourage everyone to become a paid-up member. The annual membership fee is £10.00 per household. This fee covers an unlimited number of members in your household. If you would like to contribute more, please record any additional amount (additional to £10) as a donation.

The membership year runs for 12 months, from the date you first joined. You will receive a reminder prior to expiry, encouraging you to renew for a further 12 months.

THERE ARE THREE WAYS TO JOIN OR RENEW YOUR MEMBERSHIP OF THE LALEHAM RESIDENTS’ ASSOCIATION!

We would much prefer you to join/renew and pay online by credit or debit card.  This considerably simplifies matters for our volunteer committee members. And for members, via this route you can enter details of multiple persons within your household, with an email address for each.

1. To Join/Renew online and pay by Credit or Debit Card – Follow this link. You may also use this route to make donations specifically for hanging flower baskets, or make other donations.

2. To Join/Renew and pay by Bank Transfer or Standing Order – Please send your name, postal address, email address and payment amount to membership@laleham-residents-association.org.uk Also provide the name and email address of anyone else in your household who wishes to be a member. Then pay by bank transfer, or set up a Standing Order, using the following details:
Bank: HSBC
Sort code: 40-08-42
Account number: 41500228
Account name: Laleham Residents Association
(please use your surname and postcode as a reference).

You might wish to add a donation to your membership fee payment. Whilst this would be most welcome, it would be much better to use method 1 above, and not a bank transfer. Method 1 provides the Treasurer with a precise breakdown of your payment. A bank transfer does not.

If you already have a Standing Order in place, please update it to £10 per annum, if not already done so.

3. To Join/Renew and pay by Cheque – Please send your name, postal address and email address and the annual payment of £10.00 to: LRA Memberships, 9 Wrabness Way, Laleham, Staines, TW18 2SG. Also provide the name and email address of anyone else in your household who wishes to be a member.

WHAT DO THE LRA DO WITH YOUR MONEY?

EVENTS & MAINTENANCE
The LRA takes joint or sole responsibility for a number of local events. We also help to maintain some of the common and historic areas of the village.

These include: The Village Fair  / Garden Open Day   /   The Village Quiz   /   Light Up Laleham   /  Race Night / Film Night / Planting the War Memorial /  Organising Hanging Flower Baskets

ISSUES & COMMUNITY
There seem to be endless local developments which impact the quality of life in our community. The LRA gets involved in all areas of local planning with Spelthorne Borough and Surrey County Councils, both informing and representing members when necessary.

Some current and recent applications of note include:

  • The proposal for a 20mph zone through the village, traffic calming measures, and a zebra crossing near the Village Shop
  • Restoration of the gravel pit site on the west side of Littleton Lane
  • River Thames Scheme
  • We try to provide a voice for Laleham, and reinforce a sense of local community
  • We foster and maintain links with others including Spelthorne and Surrey Councils, our Church and School, and other voluntary groups.

The committee strives to assist groups and individuals in our historic community. If you have any questions or comments we are always happy to talk to members and residents.
